Psychoanalysis
I always found classical psychoanalysis a very interesting and suggestive
issue to argue and inquire about it... but from the darkness. I mean I didn´t know much about psychoanalysis untill I saw the movie "A Dangerous Method" by chance. It tells the life of
Sigmund Freud as a biography and specially the intense relationship with Carl
Jung which gives birth to psycoanalysis. I think the analysis of the soul or the
mind is too complicated and convulted because we actually don´t know the
real reach of our minds so it´s not a exact science, (at least I do not considere
it as such) it´s a huge individual universe and that´s why it is so stricking to
me.
For instance, Freud said suppression is a defense mechanism whose
essence is to reject and keep out of consciousness some elements that are
painful or unacceptable for the ego. And this thoughs have a sexual content
for Freud. But for some people this theory could be mistaken.. It depends.
Even some of his theories have been scientificaly proven I don´t think they
are as exact. Psychoanalysis has launched the most surprising ideas about
human psychology, however these statements are sometimes unprovable but
they really make you think about it.
So certainly for me there would be no problem in getting me one of these
analysis. Would have nothing to lose but to discover more to myself.
